Abiding in God and He in Me Through His Opened Word

I would like to give a personal testimony of my experience of Christ and how He has used the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee to supply me with much enjoyment from the Bible.

I received the Lord when I was in high school through a group of dear Christians meeting in a denomination. I was still occupied with the teenage nightlife though, and did not have much of a spiritual life with the Lord. I was also very busy training as a soccer player, so I did not give much attention to the Lord. However, before my senior year, God began to convict me concerning my sin. This caused me to become more desperate to be cleansed my His blood and to have a genuine turn away from my sinful way of life and enter more into the things of God. Therefore, as a freshman at the University of North Texas, I met with a Bible church and another Christian group. During that time, I also came into contact with the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. From that time to this day seven years later, one of the most noticeable characteristics of the ministry of these two brothers in Christ is their clarity and accuracy in teaching the biblical truth. To me, this was and is altogether crucial. Their ministry is rooted in and based upon the fundamental truths of the Word of God.

The more I read books from Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, the more I am filled with joy and peace from their ministering the Word of God into me. I believe God is full of spiritual riches which are revealed through His Word for our experience and enjoyment day by day. Like the eunuch in Acts 8:26-39 who needed Philip to help him understand, Watchman Nee and Witness Lee are such helpers to me. In fact, I believe that a major reason that they became such ones is because they were the best “eunuchs”, receiving the proper help from those who preceded them: Andrew Murray, John Nelson Darby, D.L. Moody, and many others. I hope that I would always be one who is able to receive in simple faith and meekness the Word of God spoken through anyone who speaks or writes the truth and the life as revealed in the Bible.

I have met many Christians from many different countries all over the earth who have also been enjoying the Bible and are understanding much more of it through the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Also, I have visited churches in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada, all of which enjoy these two brothers’ ministries as a supply from the Lord. In my estimation, the Lord continues to bless the oneness of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:3) that is among them all. Our Father desires that all of His children be practically one with Him and with one another (John 17:21,23). So I am endeavoring to keep the oneness of the Spirit, having been purchased by Jesus’ death on the cross and born of God. The best, most enjoyable way I have found to be one with all the believers is to be filled with the Triune God who is, in fact, one with us and we with Him (Ephesians 3:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Corinthians 6:17). I know of no other way for me to live the Christian life.
